Today I learnt about singlish, the bastardised form of english language with chinese syntax and Malay words thrown in for good measure....

Situation: I went to a bar today and when I asked if I could sit outside at a smoking table
Waiter: Table for 1
Me: <embarrased> Yes ?
Waiter: ok....
he ushered me inside....
Me: excuse me... can I have an outside table?
Waiter: <suprised> Ah, so hot la, you ang mohs like it ah...
Me: <confused>
Waiter: Ah, so can, Also can, cannot also can....
Me: <confused some more>
Anyway, I got my outside table, with a side of confused and a big side of Singlish.
